Beautifully Patinated, Fully Struck

1895 50C PR67 PCGS. CAC. Although less famous than the proof silver dollar of the same date, the proof 1895 half dollar has an identical mintage of 880 pieces, and is highly desirable at the Superb Gem level. This remarkable specimen displays a needle-sharp strike. The glassy fields are undisturbed. Both sides exhibit lovely butter-gold, fire-red, and electric-blue patina, with the richest colors relegated to the margins. Population: 13 in 67 (1 in 67+), 2 finer. CAC: 10 in 67, 2 finer (1/20).(Registry values: N4719)
