1898 50C PR67 Cameo NGC. The 1898 proof Barber half dollar
(735 pieces) is a collector favorite. Examples can be obtained in
high grades and with bold cameo contrast with little searching.
Granted, Superb Gem Cameo proofs like the one offered here are
decidedly rare and command consistently strong prices when they
come up for sale. This black-and-white proof shows seemingly
limitless fields and thickly frosted motifs. A few specks of russet
patina appear marginally. Census: 17 in 67 Cameo (2 in 67 ★
