Description
1899 Half Dollar, Deeply Toned PR67
1899 50C PR67 NGC. The proof 1899 Barber half dollar, with a mintage of 846 pieces, is a moderately available issue in the context of the series, but becomes genuinely rare at the Superb Gem grade level, with or without a Cameo designation. This piece shows the crisp, full strike that is the hallmark of proof Barber coinage, with essentially perfect surfaces. Dusky multicolor toning in varying shades of violet, gold, olive, and deep navy encompass each side, partially masking the deep reflectivity in the fields.
