Description

1900 Barber Half, PR68
Tied for Finest Non-Cameo

1900 50C PR68 CACG. The mintage for 1900 Barber proofs was the third most prominent for the series, at 912 pieces. Gorgeous lavender, blue bonnet, and orange poppy tones that halo around, enamoring deep silver luster. Detail is needle-sharp throughout the border stars, with only slight softness on the eagle's right (facing) wing junction as well as around Liberty's cap, as usual. The piece displays deeply reflective fields with no abrasions or marks that would diminish the brilliant appeal of this piece. No non-Cameo proofs have been stickered at PR68, though two coins have been slabbed by CACG at this grade (3/26). PCGS and NGC have reported in total just seven non-Cameo examples at PR68 (3/26).
