1901 Half Dollar, PR67+★
Attractively Toned and Sharp
1901 50C PR67+★ NGC. The 1901 proof is a popular type coin,
due not only to its date but also general availability and tendency
to come with good eye appeal. Nonetheless, Superb Gem examples are
scarce. This is the only Plus- or Star-designated piece in this
grade at NGC. The border stars are needle sharp, and the central
devices boast nearly as bold of definition. Mirrored fields
displays delicate lilac, champagne, and sea-green toning, with no
discernible marks. Census: 20 in 67 (1 in 67+★ ), 7 finer
