Description
1904 Barber Half Dollar, PR67 Cameo
Impressive Contrast
1904 50C PR67 Cameo NGC. Ex: Grand Teton Collection. This
issue historically suffers from over-polished proof dies that
result in low cameo effect, but this example avoids the trend and
earns a Cameo designation. Sharply struck, the flawless eagle is
covered in frosty, rich luster, as is Liberty. An extremely small
strike-though on her chin is only visible under magnification. The
fields are remarkably reflective and contribute heavily to dynamic
contrast. Eye appeal is excellent, producing the substantial grade.
No finer Cameos are reported at PCGS and only one is numerically
finer at NGC (3/25). Census: 11 in 67 Cameo (2 in 67★ ), 1
finer (3/25).(Registry values: N4719)From The Grand Teton Collection.
