Description

1904 Barber Half, Toned PR67
Conditionally Rare, Spectacular Color

1904 50C PR67 PCGS. CAC. Brilliant silver mirrors underpin a riot of multicolor toning throughout both sides of this dramatically patinated Superb Gem proof. Just 670 proofs were struck in 1904, foreshadowing the Mint's declining commitment to proof coinage. Superb gems are rare among surviving examples -- even moreso with outstanding color such as this coin displays. The strike and surface quality are equally worthy of the high numeric grade, as confirmed by CAC. Population: 11 in 67 (3 in 67+), 1 finer. CAC: 3 in 67, 1 finer (9/21).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24P8, PCGS# 6551, Greysheet# 6663)
