Description
Richly Toned, Deeply Reflective 1906 Half, PR66
1906 50C PR66 PCGS. CAC. "Impressively low" is an accurate way to describe the mintage of many proofs in the Barber series. In the case of the 1906 half, only 675 pieces were struck. This is a fabulous piece. The surfaces are toned in rich shadings of sea-green, golden, and rose on the obverse; while the reverse has bright rose and blue-green colors present. The fields are deeply reflective and the devices have a significant amount of frost present, but it is not quite pronounced enough to be an obvious cameo through the layers of toning. From The Chandler Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
