Description
1906 Half Dollar, PR68 ★
Superb Quality and Eye Appeal
1906 50C PR68 ★ NGC. This midseries proof Barber half issue
has a mintage of only 675 specimens, and few survivors can rival
either the impressive preservation or the astonishing aesthetic
appeal of this vibrant representative. The strike is spectacular,
and the fields remain impressively mirrored through a layer of
light patina. Aqua, green-gold, ruby, and orange shadings embrace
each side.Population Data (4/15): This beautiful Superb Gem ranks among the finest certified of the issue. NGC has seen only five pieces in PR68 (one in PR68 ★ , one in PR68+ ★ ) with none finer. PCGS contributes one other PR68 and none finer.
Heritage Commentary: Even the most plentiful proof Barber half dollar issues become major rarities on the top side of the Superb Gem grade level, and the 1906 is certainly no exception. This coin will be a cornerstone in a high-end date set of proof Barber halves.
