Toned PR65 1911 Barber Half
1911 50C PR65 NGC. Tinges of copper and amber-gold ring the rims, with an occasional accent of blue, while parts of the centers remain silver-white on this lovely Gem proof, one of only 543 made late in the series. Interest had faded in the dated Barber-style coinage by the time this coin was made; even proofs seem to have been ordered in a desultory fashion. This well-struck Gem is one of 33 so graded at NGC, with 39 pieces finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24PF, PCGS# 6558, GSID# 6683)
