    Description

    1892 Quarter, PR66 Cameo
    Starkly Contrasted, Pale Patina

1892 25C PR66 Cameo NGC. Type Two Reverse. The issuance of the new Barber design for the dime, quarter, and half in 1892 coincided with high-quality production of both proofs and business strikes. This, in addition to their first-year status, makes 1892 quarters a frequent choice for type. This starkly cameoed example has deeply mirrored fields with thick, frosted devices. Just the slightest hint of rose patina is seen over each side, and both sides are essentially perfect. Census: 20 in 66 Cameo, 14 finer (3/11).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2427, PCGS# 85678)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper

With the superb catalog, a masterwork prepared by Mark Borckhardt, the sale was destined to meet all of my expectations; that it did, and then some. Be assured that I would highly recommend Heritage Auctions to any of my associates contemplating the sale
