    Description

    1892 Barber Quarter, PR66+ Cameo
    Well-Produced, First Year of Issue

1892 25C PR66+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. Type Two Reverse. First year of Charles Barber's new design, one that was adopted for the dime, quarter, and half dollar. As the first-year issue, more proofs were struck than previous and subsequent years, but collector demand is always strong for the 1892. The nearly brilliant surfaces show just the faintest trace of reddish patina when closely examined. The devices are heavily frosted and present strong contrast against the illimitable depth of reflectivity seen in the proof fields. Population: 11 in 66 (2 in 66+) Cameo, 9 finer (11/12).
