    1892 PR66 Cameo Quarter

1892 25C PR66 Cameo PCGS. Type Two Reverse. PCGS and NGC have certified about 520 1892 proof quarters, out of an original mintage of 1,245 pieces. About 100 of these certified proofs have been given the Cameo designation, the vast majority of which grade PR65 and below. This Premium Gem proof exhibits excellent contrast, particularly on the obverse, when the coin is tilted beneath a light source. The obverse is essentially untoned, while the reverse shows a thin layer of milky-tan color. The frosty design elements are sharply impressed throughout. A few minor ticks are visible under magnification on Liberty's cheek and temple. Population: 5 in 66 Cameo, 3 finer (4/06).(Registry values: N2998)
