Description

Sharply Struck, Beautifully Toned, and Pristine 1893 Barber Quarter in PR68 Cameo

1893 25C PR68 Cameo NGC. Simply stunning quality and eye appeal for a proof Barber Quarter. The obverse is splashed with virtually every color of the rainbow, although green-gray shades seem to dominate. The reverse is more even in appearance with antique-copper patina in the fields and cobalt-blue shadings over the eagle. The carefully preserved surfaces feature a silky-smooth cheek on Liberty's portrait. This is the first proof 1893 Barber Quarter with a Cameo designation that we have ever handed, and it is one of only two coins so graded at NGC and PCGS combined (3/02).
