    Description

Imposing 1893 Quarter, PR68 Cameo NGC

1893 25C PR68 Cameo NGC. The frosty devices offer obvious contrast with the mirrored fields. This virtually fully struck Superb Gem has a seemingly pristine obverse, and the reverse is nearly as well preserved. The obverse is completely untoned, while the reverse field has a hint of lemon color. The production of proofs fell substantially from the 1,245 pieces struck in 1892, the first year of the series. Apparently, collector interest in the new design was subdued by 1893, as only 792 pieces were issued. (#85679) (Registry values: N4719)

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
