    1893 Barber Quarter, PR68 Cameo
    Fully Struck and All-Brilliant

1893 25C PR68 Cameo PCGS. The devices offer obvious frosty contrast with the deeply mirrored fields. This fully struck Superb Gem has a pristine obverse, and the reverse is nearly as well preserved. Both sides present as completely untoned. The production of proofs fell substantially from the 1,245 pieces struck in 1892, the first year of the series. Apparently, collector interest in the new design was subdued by 1893, as only 792 pieces were issued. Simply stunning quality and eye appeal for a proof Barber quarter. Population: 4 in 68 Cameo, 0 finer (7/12).
Ex: Bruce Scher #1 All-Time PCGS Registry Set / Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2005), lot 4084, which realized $12,650.
