    1894 Barber Quarter, PR68
    Dazzling Visual Display

1894 25C PR68 NGC. CAC. A nominal mintage of 972 proof Barber quarters was achieved in 1894 for inclusion in the proof sets of that year. Almost all 1894 silver proof sets were eventually broken up to provide date collectors with high-quality examples of the silver dollar, which had an unusually low business-strike mintage that year.

The 1894 proof quarter was a well-produced issue, but few survivors can match the technical quality and eye appeal of the present coin. The design elements exhibit razor-sharp definition throughout and the pristine fields are deeply mirrored. Spectacular shades of cerulean-blue and greenish-gold toning blanket the surfaces, creating a dazzling play of colors when this coin is rotated in the light. The eye appeal is incredible. Housed in a prior generation holder. Census: 5 in 68 (1 in 68+), 0 finer (10/14).(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2429, PCGS# 5680)
