    1894 Quarter, PR68+
    Sole-Finest Non-Cameo Certified

1894 25C PR68+ NGC. The proof 1894 Barber quarter was issued in moderately substantial numbers (972 coins), and is fairly plentiful in an absolute sense. This piece, however, is one of just six non-Cameo representatives certified at the PR68 grade level by NGC and PCGS combined, and is the only such coin to receive a Plus designation (6/14). Beautifully intermingled green-gold, royal-blue, violet, and golden-orange toning grace needle-sharp devices and melt into deeply mirrored fields, with the colors somewhat more intense on the obverse. Close examination finds the surfaces to be seemingly flawless, while the eye appeal is arguably unmatched.(Registry values: N4719)
