Description
Extraordinary 1894 Gem
1894 PR 65 NGC. This coin is blessed with many outstanding qualities. The strike is razor sharp, fully detailed against deeply mirrored fields. The coin displays superb iridescent toning on both sides. The obverse is mostly coated with an arc of iridescence, electric sea-green behind Liberty's head, through brilliant purple, orange, and blue on the neck and laurels. Some of Liberty's frosted face and nearby field is brilliant, providing an attractive contrast. The reverse has banded iridescent toning on the periphery, in shades of electric blue, gold, and russet. The reverse center is mostly brilliant. This is a sharply struck and impressively colored coin with outstanding eye appeal, and a prize for the enthusiast.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2429, PCGS# 5680, GSID# 5468)
