    Description

Superb Gem Proof Deep Cameo 1898 Quarter

1898 25C PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS. Our experience suggests that, as far as late 19th century proof Quarters are concerned, the 1898 is one of the most carefully preserved issues. We have handled quite a few spectacular representatives of this Barber Quarter, among which is this heavily contrasted Superb Gem. Fully frosted with razor sharp definition, the devices rise powerfully above the deeply mirrored fields. Some very light, smoky-golden patina is seen in the reflective areas of the reverse field. A coin that seems destined for inclusion in a high quality type set. Population: 12 in 67, 2 finer (3/04).

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 242D, PCGS# 95684)
