    Vigorously Toned Superb Gem 1898 Quarter

    1898 25C PR67 NGC. Vivid peripheral honey-gold, aqua-marine, ruby-red, navy-blue, and burnt-orange colors cede to lighter gray patina in the centers. A razor-sharp Superb Gem that is nearly pristine beneath the rich toning. A tiny mint-made planchet flaw near in the field Liberty's upper lip serves as a pedigree. The dies are slightly rotated counterclockwise. Only 735 proofs were struck.(#5684) (Registry values: P1, N3400)
