Description

Deeply Patinated 1900 Barber Quarter, PR66

1900 25C PR66 NGC. Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse. Highlights of iridescent blue, aqua, and pinkish-gold appear underneath the deep toning when this piece is held under a light. The mintage of proof quarters was somewhat larger in 1900 than in the bookend years, perhaps because of the turn-of-the-century date. Sharply struck and ultimately pleasing. Census: 37 in 66, 23 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N2998)
