    Description

    1900 Quarter, PR68 Cameo
    Type Two Reverse

1900 25C PR68 Cameo NGC. Type Two Reverse. In his book The Complete Guide to Barber Quarters, David Lawrence discusses some very minor hub changes that took place in the year 1900. Perhaps, the most noticeable is that certain reverses used from 1900 onward have the tip of the eagle's left (facing) wing extending very slightly beyond the top line of the letter E in UNITED. This particular coin is not that variety with the tip even with the top of the E.
A splendid Gem proof exhibiting brilliant centers (more so on the reverse), with indescribably beautiful azure-blue, old-gold, and magenta toning in a circular array over most of the obverse and localized at the reverse rim. Certainly no finer coin might exist from either an artistic or technical viewpoint. The new owner will undoubtedly enjoy it for a long time. Census: 3 in 68 Cameo, 0 finer (8/12).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 242F, PCGS# 85686)
