A Brilliant Type Coin
1901 25C PR66 Cameo PCGS. CAC. As one of the more available
proof dates in the Barber quarter series the 1901 is often used as
a type coin. This would be a splendid piece as a type piece. Both
sides are brilliant, the fields are deeply mirrored, and there is
significant frost over the devices. It should be noted that only
two years, 1900 and 1901, are generally available with contrast as
the method of proofing changed in 1902 to the no-contrast method.
