    1901 Barber Quarter, PR67+
    Lightly Toned

1901 25C PR67+ NGC. Were this turn-of-the-century proof struck a little sharper, it might have garnered a full PR68 grade from NGC; the usual weakness is evident on the eagle's right (facing) shoulder and talons, and to a lesser extent on the highest points of the obverse wreath leaves, but this is really nit-picking, as the overall appeal of this coin is excellent. Deeply mirrored fields yield rose-gold, amber, and mint-green hues, while close study with a glass fails to reveal any contact marks or distracting hairlines. Census: 27 in 67 (1 in 67+), 7 finer (4/15).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 242G, PCGS# 5687)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
