    1902 Quarter, Lightly Toned PR67

1902 25C PR67 NGC. Bold motifs and deeply mirrored fields are the chief attributes this Superb Gem proof possesses, residing beneath a blanket of warm champagne toning on the obverse and deeper orange-gold on the reverse. No contact marks or discernible hairlines appear.

Population Data (9/15): There are 17 submissions in PR67 at NGC (one PR67 , one PR67+ ) and four finer. PCGS counts six in PR67 and none finer.

Heritage Commentary: With a mintage of 777 pieces, the 1902 began a gradual decline in proof Barber quarter production that would last until the end of the series. Superb Gem survivors, such as this example, are seldom offered, with or without cameo contrast.

Provenance: Purchased from Kevin Lipton (12/2005).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 242H, PCGS# 5688)
