    Description

    Border-Toned PR68 Cameo 1903 Quarter
    Surprising Central Frost

1903 25C PR68 Cameo PCGS. CAC. Though 1902 marked a shift in Mint practice that rendered Cameo proofs in silver largely a thing of the past, the emphasis must be on largely, as exceptional specimens such as this elite 1903 quarter prove. Unlike the mild effects that so often pass for "Cameo" at the certification services, this coin is well and truly frosted on boldly struck devices. Surrounding fields are clear silver on the margins but have considerable gold, orange, and blue color along the borders, the latter two hues particularly prominent on the reverse. Population: 4 in 68 Cameo, 0 finer (12/12).(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 242J, PCGS# 85689)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
