    Description

    Vivid 1904 Quarter, PR68 Cameo

1904 25C PR68 Cameo PCGS. This unusual 1904 Barber quarter presents the best of both worlds for toning enthusiasts, with vivid color on each side and yet more than sufficient contrast to merit the Cameo designation. The obverse displays amber-gold ceding to russet on the left half, with sprinkles of sapphire. The reverse exhibits multicolored olive, ochre, pink, and blue tints prevailing. Despite the more-intense reverse color, that side also offers deeper field-device contrast. The strike, as desired, is complete on both sides. This piece is the single finest Cameo specimen of the 1904 issue certified at PCGS, a Registry Set prize (3/11).
