Description
1905 Quarter, Toned PR67
From the Childs Collection
1905 25C PR67 PCGS. CAC. Ex: The Childs Collection. This
Superb Gem proof shows an unusual pattern of deep sea-green and
amber-gold encompassing much of the obverse. The reverse shows only
subtle lavender-gold color around the peripheries. The satiny
devices are boldly rendered and the fields exhibit ample
mirroring.Population Data (9/15): PCGS reports 11 submissions in PR67 and two PR68 finer. NGC shows 23 in PR67 (one PR67+) and three PR68 finer. This is among nine in this grade with the green CAC approval sticker.
Heritage Commentary: This piece is believed to have had only two different owners in its more than a century of existence. Another opportunity to acquire this outstanding proof may not occur for another long span of years. "Fresh" coins such as this always attract strong interest from knowledgeable collectors.
