Description

Impressive 1906 Superb Proof Barber Quarter

1906 25C PR68 NGC. The fields on this remarkable proof striking show an unfathomable depth of mirrored reflectivity, which is immediately apparent even through the multiple layers of toning that are present over each side. Each side shows similar, original toning configurations. A cornucopia of somewhat mottled, multicolored iridescence dances over the essentially perfect fields. Alternating shades of purple, lilac, gold, and crimson are noted with subtle variances posting as the coin is rotated under a light. If there are any defects on the surfaces of this exceptional coin we are unable to locate them. Wonderful technical quality combined with unbeatable eye appeal, and one of the finest remaining pieces from an impressively low proof mintage of only 675 pieces. Population from both services combined: 6 in 68, none finer (11/04).(#5692) (Registry values: N4719)
