    Description

Unbelievably Toned 1908 Superb Gem Proof Quarter

1908 25C PR67 PCGS. Well defined and toned a virtual kaleidoscope of colors. The frosted devices contrast with the deeply mirrored fields despite the overlay of reddish-gold, russet, violet, and turquoise-blue toning. A sharply struck Superb Gem with crisp shield corners and only slight softness of definition on the eagle's right (facing) claw. Gorgeously preserved, extensive study under a lens fails to reveal even the slightest disturbance. The mintage of 545 pieces is among the lowest in the series. An electrifying example of Charles Barber's design prowess. Population: 10 in 67, 5 finer (3/04).
