Finest Certified Proof 1908 Barber Quarter, PR69 NGC
1908 25C PR69 NGC. Although it is not designated as a Cameo or Ultra Cameo proof, this piece has lightly contrasting devices and fields. Both sides are fully brilliant with no evidence of toning. Two dates, 1906 and 1908, are the only proof Barber quarters that have never been certified as Cameo or Ultra Cameo by NGC. This grading services as certified 143 Barber quarters of this date, yet this is the single finest example graded (11/06). For comparison, PCGS has certified 181 proofs of this date, and not a single piece has received a grade finer than PR68.
