Richly Toned, Superb Cameo Proof 1910 Quarter
1910 25C PR68 Cameo PCGS. This piece has reached this pinnacle of perfection because of an unusual combination of Superb quality and exceptional color. Both sides are deeply mirrored and essentially flawless. Close examination with a glass fails to reveal any surface imperfections, marks, or hairlines. The viewer's frustration at finding a flaw on this coin turns to an immense respect for its remarkable state of preservation. And then there's the color. A dramatic blend and configuration of medium-blue, crimson, antique-gold, and sea-green overlays each side in a variegated fashion. A highly desirable cameo effect shines through the colorful layers of toning. This piece was obviously well cared for and remains one of the finest survivors out of the original mintage of 551 proofs.
