Superb Cameo Proof 1911 Barber Quarter

1911 25C PR68 Cameo NGC. The production of Proof Barber Quarters in 1911 was just 677 coins, according to the listing in the Guide Book. An entirely different figure of 543 coins is recorded in Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of U.S. and Colonial Coins. The confusing Proof production figures were not discussed by Breen in his introduction to the Barber Quarter series, by David Lawrence in The Complete Guide to Barber Quarters, or by Kenneth Bressett in the Guide Book. From 1909 through 1914, these two sources have different production figures for every issue. Those figures reported in the Guide Book were changed in the 2005 edition.
