    Description

    Deeply Toned PR67 1912 Quarter

1912 25C PR67 NGC. The Philadelphia Mint saw an emission of 700 proofs in this waning year of the Barber design. Design change was in the air: The long-running Indian cent had been supplanted by Lincoln cents three years earlier, and this would be the last year for the Liberty nickel design. This example offers mottled amber-russet toning on each side, complemented by iridescent blue, that alternates with near-untoned areas of extensive brilliance. There is some field-device contrast, if insufficient for a Cameo designation. Census: 9 in 67, 5 finer (4/07).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 242U, PCGS# 5698)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
