    Description

    1843 B-1 Half Cent, PR65 Red
    Large Berries Original

1843 1/2 C Original PR65 Red PCGS. B-1, R.6. Large berries in the wreath identify this as an Original 1843 half cent, actually struck that year, rather than a Restrike produced in the 1860s, identified by the small berries. Both sides have fully mirrored fields with lustrous devices, creating light cameo contrast. A few grade-limiting carbon flecks will aid researchers in the hunt for a provenance. Just under two dozen examples are known, and few are finer than this fully brilliant orange Specimen. Our EAC grade PR65. Population: 1 in 65 Red, 0 finer (11/13).
