The Bareford 1847 Original Half Cent1847 1/2 C Original. PO-8, B-1, R.6. PR63 Brown NGC. PR63 EAC. Medium date; Large berries. The obverse has a moderate-sized date, larger than in previous years yet considerably smaller than 1848. The wide obverse border has distinctive concentric lathe lines, seen also on the Restrikes of this date, but not seen on any other obverse dies in the Proof-only series. This is a lovely Proof with highly reflective fields, more so than most of these Proof Half Cents. Mostly turquoise and pale blue with traces of lighter tan color on the reverse. The fields have microscopic scratches, not of a serious nature, but enough to limit the grade.
