Description

Near-Perfect 1913 Type One Matte Proof Nickel

1913 Type One PR 66 PCGS. First year of issue for the Buffalo nickel, first year of matte proof production in this metal, and the only year of production for the Type One design make this a perennially popular type coin with collectors. The design elements show pinpoint detailing and the surfaces have a bright, lustrous sheen not often seen on matte proofs. Pale golden-rose patina covers both sides of this immaculate proof.
Ex: Baltimore '93 (Superior, 7/93), lot 123.
