Description

1915 Buffalo Nickel, PR67
Sharp and Attractive Matte Proof

1915 5C PR67 PCGS. One of the scarcer matte proof issues. Allegedly, unsold proofs were melted at year's end, further reducing the number of examples available to collectors. Bright, satiny luster has taken on hint of golden toning at the margins, giving the coin the appearance of untampered originality, yet the overall surfaces are a classic grayish-blue color. The strike is pinpoint sharp, as expected on a Superb Gem proof. Population: 74 in 67 (12 in 67+), 7 finer (1/19).(Registry values: N2998)
