Description

1915 Buffalo Nickel, PR68
Exceptional Eye Appeal, Condition Census

1915 5C PR68 NGC. David Lange notes in his Buffalo nickel reference: "This date is slightly scarcer than the 1914 issue, and it's likely that some portion of the 1915 mintage remained on hand the following year and was melted." Still, examples are available for a price even through PR67. The present coin is a remarkable Condition Census coin, a great rarity at the PR68 level. NGC and PCGS combined have certified only six pieces this superb (four and two coins, respectively) with a single NGC PR69 coin finer (1/16). Pastel shades of rose, peach-orange, and powder-blue lightly tint each side. The needle-sharp proof strike and absence of noteworthy impairments make this Superb Gem all the more appealing.(Registry values: N4719)
