Description

1916 Buffalo Nickel, PR67
Lovely High-End Example

1916 5C JD-1, High R.2, PR67 CACG. Only 600 proof Buffalo nickels were struck in 1916, the final year of proof coinage for this series until 1936. Like all proof nickels from 1913 to 1916, these were struck with a matte finish, which was unpopular to contemporary collectors but is widely admired by modern numismatists. This Superb Gem example displays lovely pastel toning and a full strike, with virtually flawless preservation.
