    Description

1936 Type Two PR 67 PCGS. Dazzling, untoned and incredibly brilliant. In comparing this coin with the earlier Type One finish, it is easy to see the difference. This piece is stunning in every respect. We fail to find a single flaw, even under magnification. The surfaces are uniformly brilliant, except for just the slightest bit of frost on the highest points. Surprisingly, the brilliant finish has proven to be rarer in the highest grades than the satin finish proofs, perhaps because the brilliant versions have a tendency to accentuate any defects that might be present. Also, it should be noted that the "buck (nickel) stops here," so to speak, as PCGS reports only one finer example (6/95), a lone PR 68. Thus, this coin represents the finest grade available on the market today. (NGC ID# 278Y, PCGS# 3995)

    Weight: 5.00 grams
