    Beautifully Toned and Conditionally Rare

    1936 5C Type One -- Satin Finish PR68 PCGS. CAC. This was the first proof Buffalo nickel issue since 1916 and was executed using two distinct finishes: the so-called Satin Finish as well as the Brilliant Finish (also known respectively as Type One and Type Two). PCGS and NGC have combined to grade a total of 60 Satin Finish coins at PR68, with just one piece rated even finer by PCGS at PR69.

    This superior example displays remarkably crisp strike definition and clean surfaces that display lovely aquamarine and golden-tan coloration. Encapsulated more than 20 years ago in a first-generation PCGS holder, this outstanding Superb Gem proof will appeal to the savvy collector or investor.
