Description

1835 C-2 Half Cent, PR63 Brown
Rare Proof Date

1835 1/2 C PR63 Brown PCGS. C-2, B-2, R.6 as a proof. Manley Die State 1.0. Medium apple-green and wheat-gold toning visits this intricately struck and unabraded Select proof. Void of detractions, and the quality is superior for the designated grade. Breen believed that the C-2 proofs were struck from perfect dies, but it appears that all examples of C-2 display a delicate die crack from ERICA to the field below the wreath ribbon, which likely emerged on the reverse die while it was hardened, prior to coinage. Our EAC grade PR60.(Registry values: P4)
