Description

Snow-9 1856 Flying Eagle Cent, Proof

1856 1C -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. Proof. Snow-9. The die line between the top of the I in UNITED and the rim is faint but visible. The 1856 Flying Eagle cents technically are not regular issues, but due to their relative availability and popularity they are collected alongside the brief Flying Eagle series. Though this peach and golden-brown example has been cleaned, possibly in response to environmental effects on the obverse, the overall eye appeal remains decent.(Registry values: N4719)
