    1856 Flying Eagle Cent, Snow-9
    Proof With Mint Details

1856 1C Snow-9 -- Cleaned -- NGC Details. Proof. By the late 1850s, the 1856 Flying Eagle cent had become famous among nascent numismatists. All wanted at least one example of the recent rarity. The U.S. Mint was willing to oblige, and added the 1856 cent to its discreet catalog of backdated issues, along with proof half cents and Seated dollars. The Snow-9 proofs were struck circa-1859. They were well made, with sharp strikes and moderately reflective fields. The present specimen is boldly impressed and displays aquamarine and rose-gold patina. A shallow strike-through above the wreath ribbon loops serves as an identifier.

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
