Description

1856 Flying Eagle Cent Proof
Snow-9, Unc Details

1856 1C Snow-9 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Proof, Unc Details. The normal proof variety (restrike from the late 1850s) is attributed by the die line in the eagle's wing and the tine off the lower left ribbon end. This example of the all-important first-year 1856 Flying Eagle cent has a pleasing appearance in spite of its uniform granular corrosion, and it displays rich brown color. A collectible, boldly struck example of what might otherwise be an out-of-reach issue.
