Description

    Lovely, Elusive Small Letters Snow-PR3
    1858 Flying Eagle Cent, PR64

1858 1C Small Letters PR64 PCGS. CAC. Low Leaves, Open E in ONE. Snow-PR3 with broken U in UNITED. As Rick Snow enthuses in his A Guide Book of Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cents: "Proof Flying Eagle cents are some of the most attractive coins in numismatics!" They are also some of the most elusive, as there are actually many more proof 1856 pattern Flying Eagle cents than there are proof 1858 Small Letters pieces, which have an estimated original mintage of only 200 pieces, per Snow. This near-Gem offers sharp devices and associated squared rims, and the pleasing surfaces are light chocolate-brown with occasional hints of olive. PCGS has graded just seven finer specimens (6/09).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 227D, PCGS# 2043)

    Weight: 4.67 grams
