Only 87 Examples Struck
1881 G$1 PR63 Ultra Cameo NGC. Only 87 proof gold dollars
were coined in 1881, and about half of those survive, including a
small percentage of cameo pieces. This Select Ultra Cameo proof has
some scuffs in the reverse field, but both sides show the watery
surfaces associated with 19th century gold proofs. This piece has
fully mirrored fields with excellent contrast, and will nicely
represent the design in a gold type set. Census: 2 in 63 Ultra
