Choice 1882 Proof Gold Dollar
1882 PR 64. Sharply struck with the initial appearance of a higher grade and a slightly cloudy haze that effectively hides the light obverse hairlines. The illimitable depth of fields readily distinguish this piece from one of the prooflike business strikes. Of the small issue of 125 proofs struck for this year, only a small number survive in this choice grade, as many have been exposed to various impairments that consign them to a lower grade.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25ES, PCGS# 7632, GSID# 8184)
